Offshore Installation Manager

Thursday, 08 September 2011

Location: Paris, Korea, Offshore, Western Australia, Australia

Become one of the world’s first experts in Floating LNG

With world class international training and exposure to leading edge technology, you will secure your future in oil & gas production technology.

Shell Development (Australia) Proprietary Limited (SDA) has substantial holdings in Australia’s oil and gas industry, and is taking this commitment to a new level with its innovative Prelude Floating LNG Project. The Project, to be located around 475km north-northeast of Broome and over 200km from the mainland, will be developed using Shell’s groundbreaking Floating LNG technology whereby gas is processed at the site of the gas field rather than piping it hundreds of kilometres to an onshore LNG plant. This pioneering technology will facilitate development of gas reserves that may otherwise stay in the ground, helping to meet the world’s expected energy demand with a reduced environmental footprint. With no FLNG developments anywhere in the world, this is your chance to participate in Australia’s first, if not the world’s first, FLNG development.

This will include supporting engineering design and procurement, preparing for commissioning and start-up,developing the operations management system and building the operations organisation. The initial period will be in the design office in Paris followed by assignment to the construction and commissioning location in South Korea.

When on the FLNG,the OIM will be the lead offshore role, with accountability for emergency preparedness and response, actively managing and championing HSSE performance to achieve best in class standard. You will ensure delivery of hydrocarbons safely to customers on time and at the required quality while maintaining the integrity of all assets. You will manage implementation of operating and sales agreements and monitor performance against KPIs. You will be involved in ongoing reviews of the HSSE case, operations procedures and maintenance management systems, while ensuring compliance with Regulatory and Shell standards and policies.

Requirements:
Importantly, you will manage and develop a competent, self directed work team and provide leadership and guidance to the offshore staff comprising a unique combination of Upstream, Subsea, LNG and Marine skills and experience. A strong communicator, you possess the ability to engage with audiences at many levels on technical and management issues while also recognising, supporting and realising value from a diverse workforce.

This is a key role in the Prelude organisation and we would like to hear from individuals with extensive experience in a Production Operations management position within an offshore environment. We expect the successful candidate to possess knowledge of subsea production systems, gas processing/treatment, LNG processes and offshore tanker transfer. It is essential you have a strong gas production and processing background and are recognised as a technical specialist in Production Operations with the ability to understand and manage a range of technical issues concurrently. You will be competent in Management of Major Emergencies and require current certification prior to start-up.
