Millions for Rotterdam Cool PortThursday, 08 September 2011
ROTTERDAM (NL) – The Dutch government is providing ten million euros for the sustainable development of Rotterdam Cool Port. Seven million euros is for improving the connection to the freeways and connections with terminals in the immediate vicinity. Around two million euros is earmarked for measures to improve the movement between Cool Port and the Westland.
Rotterdam Cool Port is planned for the Waal-/Eemhaven area and intended for handling refrigerated cargo in containers. Fresh logistics makes up a significant proportion of this. Strengthening the international competitive position of the Dutch fresh sector and the sustainability of the fresh transport will be enhanced by 'Fresh Corridorâ, in which parties from the fresh sector, the Port of Rotterdam Authority and the Province of South Holland are collaborating.
